Originally from the UK, Ryan has spent considerable time working in the local government sector. After travelling through Australia and New Zealand and falling in love with the region, he shifted his focus to optimising local government operations and improving the digital experience for public services.

Tell us a little about your background.
I’m originally from the UK and have been involved in business development from a young age. In 2014, I decided to travel through Australia and New Zealand and instantly fell in love with the region.
I returned in 2018 and began working in software sales for several companies focused on optimising local government operations. From my time at Squiz to managing the outbound development at Open Cities, I gained extensive experience in improving the digital experience for local governments, experienced significant growth, and built many lasting relationships along the way.
What do you enjoy about working in this sector?
Local government is full of innovation and offers plenty of opportunities for growth. There's so much potential, and the people working within it are transparent and genuinely committed to improving their communities.
What inspired you to join Team Redman?
The fact that it’s an Australian company really appealed to me, and the people and culture were a great fit. The company is growing rapidly, and I’m excited to contribute to making a difference with our innovative solutions.
You've travelled a lot—what’s your favourite place?
I love Thailand; it’s always my go-to stopover on the way home. And in Australia, Byron Bay is unbeatable.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm an avid golfer and enjoy competing in state tournaments for my club, Bonnie Doon Golf Club. I also still love travelling around Australia and exploring new places whenever I get the chance.
